Dr. David Stuart Stevenson

It is with profound regret we announce the passing of a long time member and staunch supporter of the Water Supply Association of BC. Dr. David Stuart Stevenson passed away June 28, 2011 at the age of 87.

Dr. Stevenson was a research scientist for Agriculture Canada at the Summerland Research Station and his stature as a leading expert in irrigation science was an inspiration to our association. He was one of the foremost experts on irrigation in the Okanagan Valley and was passionate about science. His research into developing effective irrigation systems has had an immeasurable benefit to the agricultural community and water suppliers alike.

Dr. Stevenson joined the Association of B.C. Irrigation Districts in 1970 and regularly attended association events up to 2005. He was the recipient of the Water Supply Association of BC Distinguished Service Award and his long time support and dedication to the Water Supply Association of BC will always be appreciated. Dr. Stevenson will be remembered fondly by the many members of our Association who had the good fortune to have known him.
