2025 Annual Conferernce a Success!

The conference was well attended by over a hundred registrants from all over the Province and was a huge success ! Day one started with an Operator Training Session on Well Rehabilitation and Pump Maintenance, instructefd by Ron Nelson from Precision Service & Pumps, which helped water operators achieve necessary CEU’s for their certification.  There was a Pilot Tour conducted by Carollo Engineers, which took participants to a pilot drinking water treatment plant which services a mobile home community along the shores of Okanagan Lake. Later in the afternoon the Annual Meeting was held and Directors Patti Meger, James Kay, Cheryl Halla, Chris Cochran were re-elected and a big WELCOME to new director David Best, from the City of Penticton who was elected to fill the unexpired term of David Reid from Grand Forks. At the banquet on Thursday evening, Rob Birtles from Interior Health Authority was presented with a Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding committment to the Small Water Systems program, and his long term achievements within the Interior Health Authority. A second Distinguished Service Award will be presented to Allison O’Neill from Okanagan College’s W.E.T. Program for her outstanding efforts in providing education to up and coming water operators and engineers. Allison was not in attendance and will be presented with the award in front of her class at OK College. Congratulations to both recipients !!
